New Databases and Homework Help

Don't forget to check out the George Hail Free Library (www.georgehail.org) website for new electronic databases that can help with genealogy, homework, readers advisory, as well as newspapers, magazines and other general information all from the comfort of your own home.

Click on the Reference Department link on the main page to access the Marshall Cavendish digital library, which contains information on plants, animals, geography, health, sciences and culture.

Click on the Research Databases link to access EBSCO databases which include Auto Repair Reference Center, Consumer Health Complete, Student Research Center, Kids Search and NoveList.

NoveList is a fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and more for over 135,000 fiction titles. It also includes other interesting stuff for fiction readers, such as Author Read-alikes, What We're Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists. There is also guidance for teachers and school media specialists.

You can also access Alt Healthwatch, Academic Search Premier, Regional Business News, MasterFILE Premier, Health Source (Consumer and Nursing/Academic Edition), Clinical Pharmacology, Newspaper Source, Primary Search (magazines), EBSCO Animals and TopicSearch (current events).

If you would like to explore your family history, click on the Genealogy link on the front page to access Ancestry (only available at the library), and HeritageQuest Online.
