Trial Access to AP Images Database

Through November 21, 2007 you will have access to photographs from the Associated Press chronicling history from the 1820s to the present, updated with thousands of new items daily.

The AP Images database contains 3.5 million photographs and more than 100,000 graphics - including maps, timelines, logos and graphs. The new functionality of the database also allows you to search by events, decades, people or places. All content may be downloaded by users in the library or from home for educational purposes.

New Search Engine Tool

Intelways is a fast and convenient one-stop search tool to search for just about anything on the web. It is a comprehensive set of search channels organized into different categories. Internet Archive: American Libraries

I have added a link above for the American Libraries Internet Archive. You can access digitally recreated books in full color and black and white. The British Museum, Smithsonian, University of Illinois and others have partnered to scan in (digitize) books. Books are available for free download in pdf, DjVu, plain text or the 'flip book' where you actually 'turn' the pages (based on software by British Library).
